£0.00

The Repair and Reuse project focuses on extending the life of torn and worn out clothing. Visible Mending flaunts flaws rather than hiding them. Using noticeable threads, fabrics and decorative stitching techniques, it is a creative and expressive way to show off a mend whilst extending the life of a garment. The main focus will be on learnihg how to sew beautiful and functional Sashiko patterns. Now popular as a decorative art form, this traditional Japanese embroidery style is a practical way to strengthen and thicken clothing - making it stronger and warmer. Thanks to funding from ‘Love Essex’, taking part in the project is free. The funds have been provided to support initiatives that focus on repair and reuse in order to reduce waste.
