FAQs
How long will my order take?
Once full payment has been received, your order will be processed within three working days. Personalized items take up to three weeks depending upon the item and details you have requested. You will receive an email to notify you when your order has been dispatched.
How do I return an item?
Ideally, you will be 100% happy with your purchase! If you change your mind or a product is faulty you can request to exchange, replace or return it. Please contact Mae Kandoo within 7 days of receiving your item if you would like to return it. More information is here
Personalized and bespoke items are not returnable as they can not be returned to stock. Before your item is personalized, you will be asked to confirm the details you have requested via email. Mae Kandoo is not responsible for any errors you may have made once the details are confirmed.
What packaging do you use?
Mae Kandoo has sourced ECO packaging and postal boxes from a UK supplier. The boxes are recyclable, degradable and made from 75% recycled materials. For every order the suppliers receive, they donate funds to plant a tree in areas where deforestation has taken place. You can find out more here.
Products are packaged in drawstring bags made from shirts that may otherwise have ended up in landfill. Fit for purpose as opposed to having a tailored finish, they can be reused in all sorts of ways...to store dry foods, to tidy spare draw clutter – however you decide!
Why aren’t all of your products on your website?
The website is a work in progress! More products will be added in the New Year including information about workshops, projects and commissions. Please get in touch if you would like to order a product you have seen at an event that is not currently on the website.
Can I cancel an order if I change my mind?
We hope that you won’t need to! Apart from bespoke or personalized products, you can cancel your order up to 7 days after it’s delivered. You don’t need to give a reason for cancelling but you do need to inform us before you return the product/s. For more information click here.
Why do you want me to write a review?
We care about what you think! Genuine endorsements ring more true than adverts. For a small independent business, ‘word of mouth’ comments show personal connections and help to spread the word.
We want you to be happy! If for any reason you are not satisfied please contact us so that we can address your concerns.
If you can spare a few moments , you can leave a review here.
What does ‘slow fashion’ mean?
Mass produced clothing is fuelled by a demand to keep up with trends in fashion. Mass production keeps costs down so buying new clothes to keep up with trends is relatively cheap. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be fashionable but there is an increasing awareness about the social and environmental impact that mass production has. Simply put, slow fashion is about finding more ethical ways of production, allowing time for quality not quantity. Also, reducing the impact on the environment by sourcing sustainable fabrics - natural fibres and dyes. Day to day, people are making choices to buy vintage, up-cycled clothes. Big brands are now investing in more sustainable methods of production, fair trade and using sustainable resources. There is a difference in cost which will continue depending on demand for fast fashion! Quality made has longevity. This is skimming the surface, but hopefully helps to outline the basics!
